In addition to all of the content included with Mecha Break at its launch, you can also purchase a Battle Pass to increase the rewards you earn while playing. The Battle Pass is called the "Matrix Contract," and you can view it by going to the "Logistics" tab at the main menu of the game.
From here, you can purchase the Matrix Contract and start getting your money's worth out of it in Mecha Break. However, the game doesn't do a great job of explaining exactly what comes with the Battle Pass, so we're here to break everything down for you.
For starters, you can currently purchase the Matrix Contract for $12.99. But this is a discounted price for the launch of the game, and its true price is $21.65. It's unclear when the 40% discount offer will disappear, but if you wish to buy the Matrix Contract, you'll want to pull the trigger sooner rather than later.
The Matrix Contract isn't purchased with Corite or any of the other currencies in Mecha Break, so you'll be purchasing it directly with real money. If you're on PC, you need to ensure that you have the Steam Overlay enabled through the application's settings; otherwise, clicking the "Purchase" button on the Matrix Contract screen won't bring up the opportunity to buy it. PlayStation and Xbox fans should be able to easily purchase the Matrix Contract by following the on-screen instructions.
Now that you understand how to purchase the Matrix Contract, what does your money get you? Unlike Battle Passes in other multiplayer games, there's not a tier system in Mecha Break that rewards you with new loot every time you progress a tier. Instead, you'll get access to some instant unlocks and be able to earn more currency while playing, which can then be used to unlock items throughout the game.
Here are the main benefits of purchasing the Matrix Contract:
Initially, the biggest boon of buying the Matrix Contract is getting immediate access to Inferno, who we ranked as an S Tier Striker in our Mecha Break tier list. Inferno is easily one of the best Strikers in the entire game, and having access to the mech early on will make you a formidable force in any game mode. Acquiring the 15,000 Mission Tokens to unlock Inferno can take quite a while, so you'll likely be one of the only players in a given match to have the Striker unlocked.
Of course, the best long-term reward from the Matrix Contract is the increased Mission Tokens. Mission Tokens can be used to unlock both the Serenith and Stellaris Strikers from the Matrix Selections shop, and the currency is required for a slew of other cosmetics and in-game items as well. You'll earn Mission Tokens extremely fast with the Matrix Contract, giving you more to spend.
Speaking of spending, the Matrix Contract allows you to buy exclusive seasonal items from Matrix Selections, which mainly consist of cosmetic items. Finally, every week, you can take three Cargo Rocket Beacon I units for free. These are used in the Mashmak game mode and can be extremely helpful when trying to load up on a lot of loot during a match.
While the Matrix Contract doesn't offer many individual rewards, it does allow you the ability to unlock a ton of Mecha Break's locked content by simply playing the game. So, it's ultimately up to you whether you think the entry price is worth what you get in return.
The way to survive in modern society is to be an ascetic. It is to retreat from society. There’s too much society everywhere you go…The only solution is turn it off.
